Cass Meyer
Cass earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Texas in 2008, and joined Zara in the Spring of 2010. He brings a wide range of experiences to Zara including working with geotechnical engineers solving some of the most interesting and complicated problems facing the Austin area. He has also worked with the the Bureau of Economic Geology organizing their well log database, and spearheaded a multiparameter Spectral Gamma-ray core analysis pilot project.
With Zara, Cass has been involved with phase 1 karst surveys, cave excavation and mapping, down-hole camera analysis, and database design and management. Cass is currently expanding a Rain gauge network database that Zara has been maintaining to include a full range of Weather parameters, including Wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, humidity, temperature, and soil moisture. This has been an especially exciting project for him, and he has surpassed the client's expectations as to what the data could tell them. Cass has also taken charge of the Zara website design and content layout, which has been a completely new and exciting experience for him.
His activities beyond the workday include sailing the anthropogenic Central Texas waterways and close-up outcrop interpretation using rock climbing techniques.
