One of the things I value most about Zara is the way our team approaches the work: with curiosity, accountability, and a willingness to support one another. Environmental work is not always easy. Projects change, field conditions surprise us, schedules shift, and sometimes the answer is not immediately obvious. Our job is not to make those things disappear. Our job is to help make navigating them as straightforward and frictionless as possible. That means doing good science, communicating clearly, being approachable, and being the people you can call when you have a question or a problem to work through. We want your experience with us to be something you look forward to, not something that adds another layer of complication to a life that is challenging enough already. That philosophy is reflected in the way we work with our clients, partners, and agencies, and it is a big part of what makes Zara, Zara. And now, (drumroll)...we're starting a newsletter! We'll use it to share some of what we're seeing in the field, things we think are interesting, useful information about environmental issues, and a little bit of what's happening behind the scenes at Zara. We won’t fill your inbox just for the sake of filling it. As we celebrate 23 years of Zara, I'm especially grateful for the people who have helped build this company and for the clients and partners who continue to trust us with their work. Here's to good science, good people, and making complicated things a little easier to navigate.
